Tourist place- Lansdowne is located in a naturally green environment and the original name of Lansdowne was Kaludanda. It means black mountain in Garhwali language. Its height is 1800 meters above sea level and it was settled in the year 1887 during the British period, Lansdowne is a beautiful hill station surrounded by natural beauty. You can enjoy nature to the fullest by visiting this hill. Because tourists come from far and wide. Snow-capped mountains are visible from here, not only this, there seems to be a beautiful view of the rising sun from here. There is also a hundred year old St. Marriage Church. The Bhulla Tal is very famous here and there is also a small lake in which boating is also available where you can enjoy. Apart from being beautiful, this area is also a quiet area. Tourists also come here for cycling, biking, for mountain walking.

Garhwal Rifles stronghold- Lansdowne is a natural beauty as well as a heroic saga in the Indian Army. Here is the Regimental Center of Garhwal Rifles. This fort is awarded with some medals — Vir Chakra, Shaurya Chakra, Mahavir Chakra, Param Vir Chakra, as well as the Garhwal Rifle has raised its flag all over the world. From here Garhwali recruits and illuminates his name in the Indian Army. Lansdowne has been settled by the British in 1887 during the British period. It was named after the then Viceroy of India Lord Lansdowne. Before this it was known as Kaludanda. This entire area is under the army and is also a stronghold of the Garhwal Rifles. You can visit the Garhwal Rifles War Memorial and the Regiment Museum here.

There is also a museum which is open till 5 pm. There is also a parade ground here. Not only this, Bhulla Tal is also a rhythm made by the soldiers of Garhwal Rifles. Which shows the beauty of a cantonment. Where the recruits parade before going to the Indian Army and take an oath that they will lay down their lives but will not let the country bow down. Also, this place has been a witness to the activities of the freedom movement. The distance from Delhi to Lansdowne from the capital of India is about 250 km.

By Road -Lansdowne is very easily accessible by road. It is connected to other cities by private and transport buses, just 40km away from Kotdwara.
Rail Route - The nearest rail station is Kotdwar, from here you can easily go by taxi and bus.
By Air - The nearest airport is Dehradun Jolie Grant, from here one can easily reach Kotdwar by taxi, bus and rail.
