Tarakund Mahadev , situated in the beautiful plains of Uttarakhand , my first morning is like every day with tea, then the sun rises from the mountain like every day but on this day I had to wait a lot to wait for the sun but the clouds are visible from the other side Which was becoming a journey that made my journey an adventure. It was 8:00 in the morning and I had left for Tarakund, faced difficulty on the way, after climbing a high mountain some distance away from the village, I had come far above the clouds as if I had entered heaven. Was happy but on the other side nothing was visible ahead of sorrow, could not understand that from where they came, they are going towards the same or towards starkund, then my friend told that they take the help of google navigation. And after reaching there, an atmosphere of fear was being created to meet the wild animal on the way.
By the way, Uttarakhand is a beautiful state situated in the lap of nature. The valleys here have always attracted people, they have shown mesmerizing views of the beauty of nature. High hills, small meadows, lakes, snowy peaks are like heaven on earth, in this today we are talking about “Tarakund” which is located in Pauri district of Garhwal. It is a religious place for the local people and a tourist destination for the tourists. Situated at an altitude of 2200 m above sea level at a distance of about 45–50 km from Pauri, Pauri district is at a walking distance of about 5–6 km from Badrath village in Thalisain block. The road is a bit rocky. The way to Tara Kund passes through a small hill, at the top of which there is a huge lack of trees, Passing through the hill, the path passes through rocks and after a while leads to the forest. After that the view of the meadows and then the Tara Kund is a fascinating sight in itself.

Just wonderful and beautiful. Also, in the month of Shravan, as the hills are covered with short grass and vegetation, People from villages near Tarakund graze their cattle there. People come here for some time because there is water, grass, forest around the pond due to which livelihood is available, so people stay here for few months in a year. They also have some natural habitats for people to live in. Along with those natural habitats there are also some dwellings in the temple complex, these are built for the devotees and fighters to live. The temple is ancient and grand. According to the local people “it is the biggest lake in Pauri district and it is natural”.A lot of snow falls here in winter, which further enhances the beauty of Tara Kund. It becomes a bit difficult for the local people so they take their cattle back to their homes. They come back here after some time after the snow melts, but during the snowfall, this place is always open for tourists, at that time the view here is even more beautiful. It is a perfect place to spend some relaxing moments without being disturbed by the hustle and bustle of the city. If you really want to visit a temple situated on the banks of a pond, then you must visit Tara Kund once. Where you can get lots of happiness in life.
How to reach Tarakund
By Road — Road is the easiest way to reach Tarakund. Rishikesh or Kotdwar is the nearest railway station. From here, a distance of about 150 km can be reached by bus to Pauri. From here one can easily reach Tarakund by traveling 40 km from other vehicles via Pauri-Khirsu or Pabou Paithani.
